2025: My Year of Intention, Accountability & Radical Growth

2025: My Year of Intention, Accountability & Radical Growth

Natural Representation of Growth
Natural Representation of Growth

This is my year of INTENTION—and I mean that with every fiber of my being. In 2025, I am fixing all my shit. No more excuses. No more deflection. Just radical personal accountability.

Why I’m Holding Myself Accountable This Year

I’m not sugarcoating anything anymore. I will own everything I do—my wins and my mess. I will:

  • Listen more than I speak

  • Think twice before responding

  • Acknowledge my emotions without letting them control me

  • Take full responsibility for the energy I put into the world

This is what self-growth looks like for me.

In Retrospect, I Was a Whole Mess

Looking back, my level of nonchalance? Whew. Yuck. I used to be so unaware of how deeply I needed healing. But growth has a funny way of slapping sense into you—and I’m grateful for it.

Still Me, But Better

I’ll always show up as authentically me. That’s non-negotiable. But I’m showing up as:

  • A wiser version

  • A more intentional version

  • A grown, beautiful version

  • A woman with purpose

  • A woman who knows what she wants

Blogging: My Healing Space in 2025

One solution to me not talking too much? Blogging.
This space right here is where I’ll be unpacking my thoughts daily (sometimes more than once a day), just like I did back in 2010 when I first started this blog.

If you're on your own journey of self-discovery and healing, I hope this space encourages you to show up for yourself too.

Final Thoughts

I truly hope more people find and connect with this blog. Everything I share here is coming from a real, raw, unfiltered place. No fluff, just the truth of where I’m at and where I’m headed.

I am human....I am fluid....

Default me is mean. Actually mean.

My first response is never kindness…which is why it is always kindness…

I have learnt to live in my shell. I let her out once in a while.

Actually a little too many times๐Ÿคญ

But then my inner circle, people I interact with everyday, they get the “kind” me.

Oh that’s who they get.

At intervals EVERYDAY, the real me pops out.

The unfiltered me. The totally undiluted me.

But also as quickly as she comes out, is at the same speed as she runs back in.

This is what they call “LIFE” I guess, because….

๐Ÿ˜ฎ‍๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ˜ฎ‍๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ˜ฎ‍๐Ÿ’จlol this emoji is actually me in my head most of the time.

I am navigating through this life at my best possible.

I am always open to getting better…

I am human, I am fluid.

Maria Okan, former Beat FM OAP Preg for Olamide Badoo!?!?

This Marian & Olamide's pregnancy thing is really doing me one kind.

On Monday 1st July, I saw on Olamide's Instagram page that he and his fiance just had a their second baby. I was elated and all.

Actually before that, I had seen on Maria's page (recently resigned Beat FM OAP) that she was having a baby. I even thought it was in the usual Nigerian women form whereby you only reveal your pregnancy AFTER the baby is born ( I know I did it). Then you start to post throwback photos and all. All this is usually to avoid giving birth to a yam...oooook.

Anyway, the day after Olamide announced his new child with his over-the-years-girlfriend-turned-fiance, my colleague at work hit me up on whatsapp asking me if I knew blah blah blah...see our conversation below...

I legit thought she was just talking about 2 different things until she linked it!

I don't even know what to feel about this whole thing. For me right now its just extremely juicy gist.

I'll sit here with my drink as I await more gist to unfold.....

TTT!

Shame on me!

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

How is it not a shame that I haven't posted anything since 2015??????? That's sad actually.

I have alot of thoughts these days and then just compress them into a few words on instagram. I think i'm ready to resume venting on here.

A LOT of shit has gone down in the past few years. I now have 3 children! Yup, my 2 boys and now a girl...she's a year and 3 months old now. Tasking with those 3, but still amazing cos they're just such amazing personalities.

Okay I gotta go now. Got work to do, but I will be posting again today.

Toodles!

A Touch of Love - for my babies

Saw this poem somewhere and I loved it.  Enjoy:

Quote

A Touch Of Love

You were six months old and full of fun,

With a blink of my eye, you were suddenly one.

There were so many things we were going to do,

But I turned my head and then you were two.

At two you were still dependent on me,

But independence took over when you were three.

Your third birthday, another year,

But as I lit the candles there weren’t three but four.

Four was the year that you really strived,

Why look at you, now you’re already five.

Now you’re ready for books and rules

This is the year that you go to school.

The day came, you were anxious to go

We walked to the bus, going oh so slow.

As the bus drove away and you waved goodbye,

I felt a lump in my throat and a tear sting my eye.

For when the bus brings you home and you jump to the ground,

You’ll be wearing a cap and graduation gown.

Time goes by so fast it’s hard to believe

Why just yesterday you were home with me.

So I’m holding these moments as hard as I can,

Because the next time I look….

I’ll be seeing a man

Spam Comments!!! & I'm back!!! Sorta.... lol

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii! omg i get soooo many freaking spam comments! its so frustrating jeez how can i stop dis???

Hello anyone/no-one/everyone! How have you all been (yes including my non existent spam messagers lol). Hope everyone is good?

Well my last blog post was in January dang! who wuda thunk? Ok so a few new great things have happened in my life since the last time i blogged proper:

I got married last year September & November (registry then wedding party) whoop whoooop!! My husband is the most amazing person ever. Like i he is the bestest friend i could ever have. There is nothing i cannot do in front of him. He know the whole of me and that feels great!.

Ok so i have another major gist. I HAD A BABY!!!!!! OMG i will recount the whole labor and delivery in another post. That experience deserves an entire post by itself. Just know one thing (to those who aren't moms yet), that experience can NEVER EVER be explained to the fullest. You will only have to experience it yourself sorry. This is the clearest case of "experience is the best teacher" no matter how "cliche" it is. Except you opt for an epidural (I'm def getting dat next) or a choice of doing a Cesarean, please note that labor is no joke. its not even something you cry to..its just PAIN...unbearable pain, with each episode lasting approx 20 seconds. *sigh*

Anyhoo i have the most adorable, independent, cute, ambitious (lol yes i know this already), cranky, handsome, playful young man ever!!!! He is my world, i love him with everything that i am. i cannot even explain the way i feel. Having a child is truly the greatest achievement i believe. I pray every wanting wife/woman will experience this in Jesus name...AMEN.

As usual, i leave u with photos:

At birth 5th of June

Both of us this morning lol, i didnt wanna go to work....*sigh*

ok then bye guys/whoever/spammers

Ranting in Reverse - Koko Concert 2012

I am just remembering all the things that annoyed me in my time of hiatus on this blog, and Koko Concert (Mr. Dbanj the axxhole) was the highlight of it all.

The 3 ONLY reasons why i even begged my hubby to purchase the tickets was because of Idris Elba, 2face and Wizkid. Idris Elba was the 'host'of the event as marketed.

The show was scheduled to start 7pm which we all know in naija should be max 9pm (at least so i thought). I didn't care because i really wanted a good place to sit (notice i said sit) even before the show started so i urged my hubby and we got there by 7:30pm. First of all the road to the venue was a never ending journey right there on the beach of Eko Atlantic, i didn't care because where i was going to was more important than all that. As we arrived and finally parked (i wont say that story) we walked towards the venue only for us to see hundreds of people outside the gate.. this was already 8ish. Ahn ahn, whats going on please? the venue wasn't fully ready yet so no one could go in...huh??? Ok now. I went with my hubby and 3 of my girlfriends, so we just took our time to diss the youngins around us (it was a show that had Big Sean who is what 23?? so a lot of kids were there, trust me even 12yr olds were at that place) We were just being funny and naughty. Then at the corner of my eye i saw a truck offloading speakers!! At past 8PM they were just offloading speakers...from that moment i was already wanting to go back home, but i couldn't say this to my hubby lol..i too beg for that ticket abeg.. i frustrated him into buying it for that matter.

I guess they realized that outside was almost turning into a stadium so they decided to let people in. they asked for 2 lines - 1 for regular and the other for VIP. This was when all the fonee speaking pple's hands fell right close to mine lmaoooo! There were only 2 people on the VIP line...regular line was from here all the way to heaven lmao!!! (yes i was on the regular line...and so? it was 5k please). We sha entered o and we were positioned right in front of the stage wooohoooo! I was so so happy, the VIP peeps were wayyy behind and VVIP were up to our right. Now here comes the shocker...there were no seats for us in regular. This wouldn't have been a problem at all if the show had started immediately because your feet are moving and you're jumping, adrenaline pumpin and all that....let me tell you, the DJ started playing music, and for 4 hours straight the DJ was the show :( i was beyond tired...my feet were dead...my chest was paining me...i kept sitting on the ground to regain some strength...ah ah ah it was horrible!!!

Then at 12 midnight Basketmouth and Bovi came on the stage..ooook, they are cool, funny and all, but where the hell is Idris Elba please? He is the "HOST"right??? These 2 comedians cracked successful jokes for another hour or so which were truly funny, so that made me happy a bit, but i just kept wondering when the host would come out. To cut the long story short, Basketmouth and Bovi hosted this show...the whole thing. Idris Elba did come out, but even a hype man was on stage longer than him. He ran to the stage when people were screaming for him at about 2:30am (when so many idiots had performed) and then he introduced Tinie Tempah, Big Sean and Dbanj when they were to perform. I was disgusted by this that i wasn't even slightly excited whenever he "popped" up on the stage.

The 2nd and biggest f**k up was that Tuface and Wizkid didn't come to that event. i didn't even know how to react. i felt like climbing that stage and giving Dbanj hot slaps and biting him all over. Wicked basturd! Dbanj's performance was the worst of the night and i am not lying. People started leaving the moment he spent 15minutes on stage asking us to beg the VVIP people that they should not be angry with him. arrant nonsense. What a failure

The show was a flop...30/100 is what i grade it...i'm grading 30 because Tinie Tempah, Big Sean and our Nigerian artists lit up the stage and managed to still have me singing and dancing for a while after all i had gone through that night. The after-party of that show was the walk of life people had to walk to their cars and some to the main gate lmao! hilarious. i didn't walk for too long sha but i sat in traffic for a while at 4am to get out of the blaady place lol.

The show was on the 27th of Dec. As God would have it (knowing fully well that i really needed to see Tuface perform "Ihe Neme" in this my lifetime and i'm not interested in going for shows ever again), on the night of the 31st/1st after church, my hubby and i branched at the Lagos State countdown stuff they did on the beach (old Kuramo) and without spending a kobo or standing for long, i saw my Tuface perform :) i was so so happy. Tuface is the greatest Nigerian artist ever.

Lmao! jus had to put this up for no reason

Hmmmmm Chris, karrueche and Rihanna

Hi guys! I'm here just to give u one info. So here I was outta curiosity, (when it comes to this drama, I am totally team karrueche) I noticed that d intimate fotos of Chris and karrueche have stopped coming up online and there has been not tweet from the former to d latter or vice versa. So I went thru karrueche's Instagram followers (yes ALL of them), then I went thru Chris brown's followers (ALL of them too) and finally thru Rihanna 's followers (every single thing) and to my most shocking surprise, Chris and karrueche were no longer following each other meanwhile Chris and Rihanna are now following each other (hot tears).

This makes me so so sad. What is going on here ehn?? Well I will keep stalking as long as my Internet doesn't expire soon.

I will keep you *crickets* posted :)

Crazy Story I saw on a blog...pls read (women especially)

A MUST READ FOR ALL LADIES

I read a touching, pathetic experience on one a blog, so i thought i should share it with you guys, it's about the horrifying experience of 8 girls in the hand of 8 devilish men, its a must read for all ladies out there.

"Hi, I am Tonia (not real name), a girl who has fears, beliefs, reservations and just your regular typical Nigerian girl. This past few weeks has been one hell of a game for me. I have really been unsettled and I thought I share this story with you.

"When Cynthia (the lady killed in the hotel room in Festac, Lagos) surfaced on the internet and various news media, I was scared and it brought back a whole lot of memories to me and also served as and eye opener. Many people castigated and criticised Cynthia (may her
gentle soul rest in peace), but my point is, it could have been anybody, anybody at all.

"We have met people through various social media. Some have ended up well, some have not but with painful memories. To cut the long story short, let me kindly share with you my encounter with social media especially the very popular Blackberry Messenger (BBM).

"I am a graduate and currently serving in Kaduna. I could have runced it, but I needed somewhere to clear my head and forget about my ugly encounter. Here is my story.

"I happened to have a married man as a contact on my BBM. He had been asking me out for over six months and I refused to date him. As time went on, he invited me clubbing with him when his wife was outside the country, and I went with him all night. We spent most of the night at Swe bar, Lagos.

"I also met his clique of friends, married as well with their various mistresses. We had 'mad' fun. After all the clubbing and drinking, he lodged me in a hotel somewhere in Obalende. I felt sort of safe with him. We did not have sex, but he made sweet love to me and touched me in places I had never ever imagined.

"He kissed me passionately but guess what? He did not have sex with me. We did all sorts but there was no penetration. So, to an extent, I trusted he was a good person to be around with. I did not know that it was all part of the plan.

"He gave me N10,000 and put me in a cab to go home the next morning. We kept talking and chatting and sending naked pictures to each other and he told me naughty things of how he wanted to whisper things in my ear, I blushed. We didn't see for two weeks and that was because his wife just came back from Turkey.

"One faithful evening, he pinged me that he was organising a beach party/boat cruise and that he would love for me to be his date and that he wanted to open a BBM chat, as a medium for his friends and my friends to interact. I was excited about it, I just wanted to have fun. I was able to get five of my very hot friends.

"The BBM group opened and we got chatting. I also realise that majority of them were married and working in reputable firms. It was fun and we didn't mind if they were married, we just wanted to have fun, as well as some other girls apart from my friends in the group.

"We chatted exclusively, sent pictures to the BBM group to introduce ourselves, and we had opened group conversations pending the beach party. And as excited as we were, we went shoping for nice sexy beach wears.

"The D-day finally came, we all assembled at the Lagos Island Boat Club. I was wowed because it was a high class party. We were cruising in a boat loaded with goodies drinks and hot babes, and as well 'MARRIED MEN'. I did not care, I just said in my mind that I would not roll with married men anymore after this, that for now, all I wanted to do was to catch some fun. After all, I wasn't paying bills.

"We got there, it was a private beach resort. Most of the beach facilities I got to see there were owned by multinational companies. We got out of the boat, and went to where we were partying. It was a duplex made with wood. It was a very nice setting.

"I felt comfortable because it even had a fence around it separating it from other beach houses around. So, there was privacy and of course bouncers (heavy looking guys) guarding the place. I said to myself, this must be heaven, I must be dreaming.

"Anyways, we felt free with each other because we had been chatting. It was 5:30pm and the party just started. We had drinks flowing from the private bar tender which happens to be owned by one of the men in the group. Reality struck when I realised that I was feeling dizzy and feeling really funny and light headed. Not only me, but other girls around me too noticed there was something strange about it.

"I was also feeling HORNY as hell! I had been drugged. They monitored us and when they knew the drug had really gone deep into our system, they moved us up into the main beach house. I could still see faces, but was too weak and horny to react.

"Mr B, the man who took me clubbing, carried me in his hands like a sacrifice and put me down on the floor just as other men also did with their girls. We were eight in numbers; 8 girls, 8 guys, and they all stripped us down and had sex with us.

"I enjoyed it a bit because I was horny. It was a mixed feeling because I cried, I moaned, but I did not know how many times he came into me. He pounded me hard. I was dizzy, but he grabbed me with force. All I could notice was the wedding ring on his finger. I thought of how wicked and miserable some married can be. How inhuman and heartless they could be.

"All of them took turns in switching partners and slept with all of us. I passed out. That was the last thing I could remember. I felt water poured on me. I noticed all the other girls around me too were half naked and some stark naked.

"We spent the night at the beach, but the men were no where to be found. I looked round me and all I could see was packs of used condoms. I ran to pick my cloths and possibly raise an alarm. I got dressed, found my phone with an envelope. It contained N16,000 and a note asking us to take N2000 each for transport. Tears of anger and rage filled my eyes and the girls around me as well.

"We were drugged and used like tissue paper. I grabbed my phone and noticed a ping came in. I checked my phone and I noticed the BBM group had been deleted, and a message via BBM from MR B came in. He threatened me that if I say a word to anyone, I would regret it.

"I told him he was a bastard, and he said try it. A picture came in, several pictures. In fact, they were pictures of us being naked on the floor. Pictures of the humiliating us but they blurred the faces of the men. In total, I got 20 pictures. I was not myself for a month.

"I went back to school, I had no one to talk to. The rest of the semester was hell for me. My CGPA dropped drastically. It was the worst out of the worst result I ever had.

"Till today, my friends and I have not discussed this with anyone, but all I could do when I heard of Cynthia's story was to narrate my own ordeal anonymously and spread the news, the word, and pray they see it and changed their ways.

"I am now born again. I have given my life to Christ. I fear men so much that I cannot even move close to them. I still have nightmares, but with time, God will strengthen me and I will move on. My advice to single ladies out there is, do not be desperate for fun. Pray to God to open your eyes of understanding, and pray hard. He who kneels before God will stand before kings and queens.

"To all married women, pray hard to God to intervene in your marriages and turn your husbands from bad habits to and bad friends. As for me, I do not think I ever want to get married or date a man again. That chapter has been closed for good in my life.

Please, do not ignore my mail. Please post it. There are a lot of things we ladies need to learn including you. Please post it on your blog and save a soul. It could be your friend, sister, cousin, neighbour.

"God bless you as you pass it on. To all readers, I do not care if you insult me or rain abuses at me. My job is to share this encounter with you and save you from any mishap. God bless you all. Amen."
